EPIC is the acronym for HGTC’s new Quality Enhancement Plan, an initiative that focuses
on helping students create more Effective Professional and Interpersonal Communication
(EPIC) exchanges in their education and career.
Chef Geoffrey Blount, an instructor at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle
Beach (ICI), was named Chef of the Year by the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association
at its 44th Annual Meeting and Hospitality Awards on November 15, 2018.
Chef Geoffrey Blount, an instructor at HGTC’s International Culinary Institute of
Myrtle Beach, received a Jefferson Foundation Award on October 18, for his servant
leadership during and after Hurricane Florence.
Reagan Loehr and Dustin Walters first met in August 2016 through their Introduction
to Human Services class. Both were beginning their journeys in the human services
program at HGTC in preparation for a career in helping others.
Dr. Tim Hardee, South Carolina Technical College System President, toured our state
by bike (spanning 800 miles in 12 days) and visiting all technical colleges to raise
money for the SC Technical College System.
Professor Charles Granger had the opportunity to volunteer at the US Senior Women's
Open at the Chicago Golf Club this year. He was excited to support HGTC graduate and
Chicago Golf Club superintendent Scott Bordner.
HGTC offers numerous continuing education options for students including residential/commercial
electrician and certified medication technician training, grant workshops, a food
enthusiast dinner series and more!
