Robert P. Hucks, II, Chair, HGTC Area Commission

The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Area Commission has elected Robert P. Hucks, II as Chair of the Board. Mr. Hucks brings valuable experience and a strong commitment to the College’s mission, having served as an engaged member of the HGTC Area Commission and a dedicated advocate for workforce and community development.

As Chair, Hucks will lead the Area Commission in its governance and oversight responsibilities, supporting the College’s strategic direction and ensuring continued alignment with the needs of students, employers, and the communities HGTC serves. His leadership will help guide the College as it advances key initiatives focused on access, student success, and regional economic growth.

“Mr. Hucks brings a thoughtful and collaborative leadership style along with a strong understanding of our mission and the communities we serve,” said HGTC President Dr. Marilyn Fore. “I am confident in his ability to lead the Commission effectively and support the continued success of HGTC.”

“I am honored to support the work of HGTC and its leadership team,” said Hucks. “The College plays a vital role in strengthening our workforce and expanding opportunities across our region, and I look forward to contributing to that important work.”
