Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is proud to announce that 100% of first-time test-takers from both of its nursing programs passed their respective National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) during the second quarter of 2026, marking an outstanding achievement for HGTC nursing graduates.
From April through June, first-time test-takers from both HGTC’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and Practical Nursing (PN) programs achieved a 100% pass rate on their respective NCLEX examinations. During the first half of 2026, from January through June, 98.3% of first-time NCLEX-RN test-takers from HGTC’s ADN program passed the licensure examination.
“These outstanding results reflect the dedication of our nursing students and the exceptional faculty who prepare them for success in the classroom, in clinical settings and ultimately in their careers,” said Dr. Marilyn “Murph” Fore, president of HGTC. “Our graduates are entering the workforce with the knowledge, skills and compassion needed to provide high-quality patient care and serve the growing health care needs of our communities.”
HGTC offers both the Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing programs, providing students with rigorous academic instruction, hands-on clinical experiences and access to advanced simulation technology. Through partnerships with health care providers throughout the region, students gain valuable real-world experience while preparing to enter one of the state’s most essential professions.
The latest NCLEX results continue HGTC’s strong record of preparing graduates to successfully earn professional licensure and enter the health care workforce. The NCLEX is a nationally recognized examination used by state nursing boards to determine whether nursing graduates are prepared for entry-level practice as registered nurses or licensed practical nurses.
“Achieving a 100% pass rate among first-time test-takers from both programs during the second quarter is an accomplishment that reflects the hard work of our students and the commitment of our nursing faculty,” said Ann Daniels, assistant vice president and dean of the School of Nursing, Patient and Emergency Care. “These results demonstrate that our graduates are prepared to enter the profession with the skills and confidence necessary to provide exceptional care to the patients and communities they serve.”
