60th Birthday Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is inviting the community to celebrate six decades of education, opportunity and service during the HGTC 60th Birthday Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4-6 p.m. at the HGTC Grand Strand Campus.

The free, family-friendly celebration will take place at Building 600, 950 Crabtree Lane in Myrtle Beach, and will feature an evening of fall activities and entertainment for all ages.

Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes and enjoy trunk-or-treating, costume contests, pumpkin decorating, fairy hair by HGTC Cosmetology, music, games, popcorn and food trucks.

“For 60 years, HGTC has been part of the fabric of our community, creating opportunities for students, families and generations of graduates across our region,” said Dr. Melissa Batten, HGTC interim president. “This celebration is an opportunity to thank the community that has supported HGTC throughout the past six decades and invite families to join us for an evening of fun as we celebrate this important milestone together.”

The Fall Festival is part of HGTC’s yearlong 60th anniversary celebration commemorating six decades of transforming lives through education and serving Horry and Georgetown counties.

Founded in 1966, HGTC has grown from a small technical education center along Highway 501 into a comprehensive higher education institution serving thousands of students each year across campuses in Conway, Georgetown and Myrtle Beach.

Admission to the HGTC 60th Birthday Fall Festival & Trunk-or-Treat is free and open to the public.
