Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is pleased to announce an expanded partnership with McLeod Health and Horry County Schools that offers in-person classes beginning in Fall 2026 semester at The Center for Health & Fitness at McLeod Health Loris.
This collaboration expands access to higher education and workforce training opportunities for residents in the northern Horry County region. The Fall schedule will include general education coursework, pre-healthcare curriculum, and the highly in-demand Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, designed to prepare students for in-demand healthcare careers.
Through this partnership, eligible seniors from Green Sea Floyds High School and Loris High School will have the opportunity to participate in a specialized Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) pathway, allowing them to earn industry-recognized credentials while still in high school.
In addition to the CNA pathway, HGTC will offer a variety of general education courses. All course offerings will be available to high school dual enrollment students as well as community members seeking to advance their education, develop new skills, or pursue career opportunities. This expanded access will provide flexible pathways to college coursework and workforce-focused training for learners at every stage of their educational and professional journey.
Registration is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis; interested students are encouraged to enroll promptly. To help prospective students learn more about these opportunities and begin the enrollment process, HGTC will host a community open house event:

During the event, attendees will have access to comprehensive support services, including:
- Student Services: On-site assistance with admissions applications, academic advising, and course registration.
- Financial Aid: Guidance for completing FAFSA applications and understanding financial aid options.

The partnership with McLeod Health and Horry County Schools was established in response to a request to expand access to higher education opportunities in northwest Horry County. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to expanding access to education, strengthening the regional workforce, and creating pathways to meaningful career opportunities.
