Beginning October 1, HGTC will reinstate the $10 application fee for new applicants. The fee must be paid before a student can be admitted to the College. Dual Enrollment and CCU Bridge students will be exempt from the application fee.

The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation has announced its 2026 slate of officers for the Foundation Board of Directors, with Martha Lewis selected to serve as chairperson.

The 2026 officers are:

  • Chairperson: Martha Lewis, retired physical therapist
  • Vice Chairperson for Fundraising Initiatives: David Singleton, owner and president, Singleton Properties
  • Vice Chairperson for Support Services: Tim Tilley, president, EnviroSep
  • Treasurer: John Draughn, Coldwell Banker
  • Secretary: Von Todd, HTC
  • Past Chairperson: John Sawyer, senior vice president and senior financial advisor, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management

The officers will help guide the Foundation's efforts to strengthen support for Horry-Georgetown Technical College, its students, employees and programs while building relationships throughout the communities the College serves.

Lewis brings decades of professional experience and community service to her leadership role. A retired physical therapist, she served the Myrtle Beach area for 40 years and co-founded Atlantic Physical Therapy, an outpatient rehabilitation facility, in 1986. She helped oversee the practice's expansion to several locations along the Grand Strand.

A native of North Carolina, Lewis attended East Carolina University and earned a bachelor's degree in physical therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. She continues to serve the community as a volunteer physical therapist at Smith Free Clinic in Pawleys Island, which provides health care services to low-income and uninsured residents. Lewis resides in Conway and attends St. Anne's Episcopal Church.

The HGTC Foundation raises funds to support the programs, services and activities of Horry-Georgetown Technical College, its students and employees. The Foundation also works to create and strengthen positive relationships between the College and the community.
