Dr. Becky Boone, HGTC Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Development
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Becky Boone as Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Development (OIED), transitioning from her role as Interim Vice President. Dr. Boone brings a strong record of institutional leadership, collaboration, and strategic focus, along with a deep understanding of the systems and processes that drive continuous improvement across the College.
Dr. Boone most recently served as HGTC’s Interim Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Development, where she led efforts in institutional research, strategic initiatives, accreditation, and data-informed decision-making. She advanced work that strengthened operational effectiveness and supported alignment with the College’s priorities and mission, ensuring progress in areas that directly impact student success and institutional accountability.
Throughout her tenure at HGTC, Dr. Boone has worked collaboratively across the institution to advance key initiatives and strengthen data-driven planning. She played a significant role in the College’s Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaffirmation, contributing to the processes and documentation that demonstrate institutional quality and continuous improvement. She consistently connects strategy to execution, positioning OIED as a central partner in improving performance and outcomes.

She brings people together, keeps attention on what matters most, and leads with clarity. I am confident in her ability to continue advancing this important work.
As Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Development, Dr. Boone will lead the College’s work in planning, institutional research, assessment, accreditation, and strategic initiatives, ensuring HGTC remains responsive, accountable, and focused on continuous improvement.
