Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is inviting students to explore career-focused academic programs through a series of information sessions scheduled throughout the fall.
Beginning Sept. 9, HGTC will offer virtual and in-person sessions highlighting programs in health care, criminal justice, business, education and the legal field. The sessions are designed to help students learn more about program requirements, admissions, hands-on and clinical learning opportunities and potential career pathways.
Participants will also have an opportunity to connect directly with HGTC faculty and staff, ask questions and gain a better understanding of what to expect as an HGTC student.
“Exploring a career begins with understanding the opportunities available and finding the educational pathway that can help you reach your goals,” said Dr. Melissa Batten, interim president of HGTC. “These information sessions give students an opportunity to connect directly with our faculty, learn more about the programs that interest them and see how an HGTC education can prepare them for meaningful careers in our community and beyond.”

Most of HGTC’s fall information sessions will be offered virtually, providing students with the flexibility to explore programs of interest from anywhere. Advance registration is required for virtual sessions. Participants will receive a Microsoft Teams meeting link at the email address used during registration approximately one hour before the session begins.
The Sept. 9 Criminal Justice Information Session will be held in person at the HGTC Conway Campus, 2050 U.S. 501 E., Building 700, Conway. Participants will have an opportunity to meet faculty and criminal justice professionals, tour labs and classrooms, and learn about Correctional Officer Training, Criminal Justice Technology and Police Pre-Academy Training.
