Welcome to Horry-Georgetown Technical College!

The Office of Human Resources provides a comprehensive onboarding program for all new faculty and staff called ONE (Onboarding New Employees). Attendance is required for all new full-time (FTE) employees and 30+ hour temporary staff. During ONE you will be provided with key information regarding the College’s policies, safety, and service. You will also learn about the retirement, health insurance, and other benefits available to you and have the opportunity to meet with the benefits manager. We look forward to welcoming you to our campus!
ONE will be held on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm in the Banner Room (Conway Campus, Building 200, Room 213A).
*A ONE session is subject to cancellation pending low enrollment – if cancelled, new hires will be invited to the next session or be scheduled for a one-on-one session with the Benefits Manager.

FSD Policy (Tuition Assistance/Remission), Position Descriptions
8:45 – 9:30 EPMS, Attendance, & Leave:
EPMS/FPMS; state service time; work schedules/rules, leave types/guidelines; FMLA; State Holidays/College Calendar; Hazardous Weather Leave, Wavenet (My Employee tab) overview – including leave entry, emergency contacts, pay stub, etc.); Worker’s Compensation
9:30 New Hire Photos – Temporary Employees will report at this time
10:00 – 10:15 Policies & Procedures:
Outside Employment, Personal Appearance Policy, Overtime Policy
10:15 – 11:15 Payroll, Insurance, & Retirement:
Payroll practices, retirement, insurance, supplemental benefits, additional perks; collect any completed forms not completed through Onboarding portal; collect Summary of Benefits forms or set appointment to meet privately
11:30 – 12:00 HR Training & Mentoring
-Introduce HGTC Mentoring ProgramL
-Log into POWERHOUSE and complete Anti-Harassment Training.
-Wrap up/Reminders (First Year Experience Schedule, etc.)
