The New International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach is now open to the community
The doors opened for the first time at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College’s International Culinary Institute on Wednesday where hundreds of guests had the chance to check out the latest state-of-the-art $15 million addition to the HGTC Grand Strand Campus.
The new building provides a world-class center for culinary education that will allow HGTC to serve 400 students annually. Featuring state-of-the-art cooking
technology and equipment throughout including; two teaching kitchens, two baking labs,
a bake shop, a demonstration kitchen, a chef’s dining room, a teaching dining room
with conditioned wine storage, a production kitchen with a bar, exposed cooking suite
and hearth oven, an outdoor BBQ & dining area, a greenhouse, administrative spaces
with 8 offices, a conference room, and adjunct area, and central storage for dry storage
& walk-in coolers/freezer.

New Building Information
Construction is now complete on the new state-of-the-art education center, the new facility is located on the College’s Grand Strand Campus at 920 Crabtree Lane in the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach, the new building will provide bakery/patisserie laboratories, a nutrition lab, production and training kitchens, an outdoor barbeque kitchen, greenhouse, wine cellar, beverage bar, chef’s bar, chef’s table, and an amphitheater.
