Tuition and Financial Aid
PACE makes good financial sense for families with students who intend to pursue a two- or four-year degree, saving time and money.
Tuition Costs 2021-2022
HGTC is extremely proud to invest in the future academic success of our Dual Enrollment students.
For the 2021-2022 school year dual enrollment students will not have any out-of-pocket Tuition and Fee costs. HGTC will cover any remaining tuition balance not otherwise paid for by the School District.
SC Lottery Tuition Assistance (LTA)
- Students who have completed high school, SC Lottery Tuition Assistance (LTA) requires submission of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); however, students enrolled in high school may sign the FAFSA waiver and be eligible for LTA. This FAFSA Waiver is included in the PACE Application packet and must be submitted. LTA is not based on financial need and covers over 50% of tuition costs.
- PACE students are eligible for SC Lottery Tuition Assistance (LTA), upon meeting qualifications set by the state and enrolling in a minimum of 6 credits (2 classes) per semester.
- High School students prior to graduation may receive LTA, which does not affect the LIFE or Palmetto scholarships, which begin following the completion of high school.
- Upon graduation from high school, students cannot receive LTA and LIFE/Palmetto in the same academic year (applies to Early Completers). For example, early completers who graduate high school mid-year may not receive LTA in the fall ( enrolled in PACE classes during high-school) and LIFE in the spring (their first semester of college post high-school graduation).
Dual Enrollment students eligible for SC Lottery Tuition Assistance may also be eligible to receive the SC•WINS Scholarship if they qualify for Free/Reduced Meals established by the USDA. SC WINS further reduces tuition cost for eligible students making college more affordable for many students. To apply, please send a copy of your free or reduced lunch approval letter from the District or school cafeteria to HGTC Dual Enrollment staff.
Please note that award amounts are subject to change each term based upon the number of eligible recipients and available funding.
Dual enrollment students are responsible for ensuring payment of all HGTC tuition and textbook costs unless otherwise directed by your high school counselor or administration. If applicable, tuition payment is due upon receipt of HGTC bill mailed after the semester begins. Bills for any balance due will be mailed to the student’s address on file 6-8 weeks after the semester begins. PACE students can disregard all other college wide dates regarding payment deadlines.
All HGTC tuition and fees are subject to change without prior notification.
Important Note: The grades of college courses completed in high school will affect your class standing and/or GPA and, therefore, will affect your eligibility for LIFE and other scholarships following graduation.
