  Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two-year community/technical college that offers more than 70 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor's degree.

Services for Distance Learning Students

HGTC wants to ensure students enrolled in Distance Learning Programs have all the resources needed to succeed. Here are the resources available to students online.

Student Support	Online Services
Academic Policies/Procedures	HGTC Policies and Procedures are available to all online.
Advising	Virtual advising offered through DLP enrollment advisor, email distancelearning@hgtc.edu Degree Works is available online through your myHGTC account.
Bookstore	Visit the HGTC Bookstore online for your textbook and course supplies.
Counseling Services	Counseling services are available to all students.
D2L Student Resources	If you are new to online learning, please visit TECH Central. You will find various resources to help you navigate the College’s online learning management system of D2L online. For a quick navigation guide to D2L, click here.

Library	Online library resources such as live chat with librarian, twitter/FB, online databases and catalog systems are available to students.

Orientation	HGTC Orientation is available online. Please visit the NAVIGATE orientation site for more information on the HGTC College orientation. For online course Orientation, log into myHGTC and under the "Registration Tools" card, you will find the Distance Learning Orientation Course.

SSTC – Tutoring	Virtual tutoring with SSTC staff and online tutoring services are available in areas such as Writing, Math, Accounting, Biology, Nursing, Science, Business and more! Contact the SSTC for more information: sstc@hgtc.edu.
Student Complaint Procedure	All students have a right to file a complaint concerning their education at HGTC. Students enrolled in the DLP may use the online complaint process.
Student Engagement	To learn more about what is happening at HGTC beyond the classroom please visit our Student Engagement site.
Student Information Center: TECH Central - Student Technology Training	Live Chat access available during normal business hours. Access Live Chat and video tutorials on the myHGTC portal.
Technical Support (HELP DESK)	Live Chat Access through TECH Central; Live Chat is only available during normal business hours. You may also call the Helpdesk at 843-349-TECH (8324) for technical support.
Testing Center	Proctor testing is available at the testing centers on all three HGTC campuses, in addition, students can go to other technical colleges in the state as well. In some classes, testing may occur through D2L online. Check course Instructional Packets for specifics on testing procedures for each course.
