STEPS Session - Respiratory Care Associate Degree

Submission of this form verifies that I have viewed the STEPS session power point and understand that to be eligible for a seat in the Respiratory Care program at HGTC I must:

• Apply to and be accepted to HGTC.
• Submit official high school transcript (with graduation date) or copy of GED.
• Submit official college transcript of any other college attended.
• Sign and submit the “Additional Admission/ Placement Requirement Affidavit” (Background Check Affidavit).
• Be eligible to take BIO 210, MAT 120, and ENG 101, score a 70+ on the TEAS, and have a minimum 2.50 GPA on all prereq courses attempted (MAT 110/120 time limits apply).

  Successfully complete (with a minimum grade of C) all 7 Respiratory Care prerequisite courses with a 2.50 GPA: BIO 210, BIO 211, BIO 225, ENG 101, MAT 110 or 120, PSY 201, and one Humanities course.  BIO 211 and BIO 225 have 5-year time limits, and MAT 110 or 120 have 10-year time limits.
• Priority application deadline: May 15^th each year for a seat in the Fall semester (August start) class.
  * Applications can be submitted after May 15th, however we encourage you to apply as soon as you become eligible since seats in the program are limited.
• If you receive notice that you are admitted to the Respiratory Care program, you will then receive follow up instructions to complete the following items. You must be prepared to:
  • Complete a Health Physical and submit the required immunizations
  • Complete and pass a Certified Background Check and Drug Screening,
  • Submit a $500.00 deposit to hold your seat
  • Show proof of current HealthCare Providers CPR

Completion of these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into HGTC’s Respiratory Care program.
