Boat Building Technology

This program covers fundamental processes, methods, and components of composite boat manufacturing, including molds, plugs, gelcoat, lamination, plumbing, rigging, and quality control. After completion of the program students will obtain skill sets needed to enter the workforce as a Boat Building Technician.

Fall Semester

  • MNT-151 Introduction to Boat Building
  • MNT-152 Lamination I
  • MNT-153 Molds and Materials
  • MNT-154 Structural Integrity

Spring Semester

  • MNT-161 Boat Assembly
  • MNT-162 Lamination II
  • MNT-163 Boat Rigging and Engine Installation
  • MNT-164 Boat Plumbing and Electrical

Summer Semester

  • MNT-165 Quality Control and Finishing
  • MNT 165 Boat Building Capstone
  • MNT-200 SCWE Internship
