The Office of Career Services aims to provide educational programs that assist students in career and professional development. Our goal is to serve as a resource to all aspects of the College, including faculty members.
Career services, under the guidance of its Coordinator Lauren Skipper, is one of the most impactful departments in the entire college. Our Engineering Technologies & Golf and Sports Turf Management department took advantage of the full suite of services provided by them including an in-class workshop for our students on gathering information on potential job opportunities, dressing and meeting potential employers for the first time, how to successfully engage companies by asking relevant and knowledgeable questions, building a resume that gets you the in the door, and how to prepare for the first set of interviews. The high praise from our students and the acclamation from our employers after our job fair that resulted in numerous career opportunities reflected how critical Career Services is to HGTC mission of providing the workforce education experience that will leave a lasting positive impact on our students and our community.
