The Public Service Technology and Legal Studies department of Horry-Georgetown Technical College offers a quality education in several key fields relating to the well-being of the community. From Criminal Justice to Legal Assistant/Paralegal to Early Childhood Education, the programs offered ensure that both graduates and society benefit from the knowledge, skills, and abilities provided.
This program offers a well-rounded study of the criminal justice system, focusing on the legal issues and fundamental concepts and principles associated with law enforcement, the courts, corrections, and juvenile justice.

HGTC's Legal Studies programs prepare students to work under the direct supervision of an attorney to conduct documentary and legal research, draft legal documents, recommend solutions for procedural problems, and implement detailed office procedures for the efficient handling of specialized fields of law.
Early Care and Education & Teacher Education
Early Care and Education professionals work in partnership with families to create a nurturing environment that is respectful of culture and rich in experiences to promote the optimal growth and development of each child.
The Human Services department provides students with the skills and abilities to work with individuals of all ages within a broad range of services that strive to improve societal outcomes.
