(CONWAY) May 9, 2017 – The Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Redevelopment Authority has continued their commitment to the growth and improvement at Horry-Georgetown Technical College with a $1 million pledge. This donation will support physical and technological enhancements on the Grand Strand Campus and will be given over a two-year period.

On Friday, May 5, Buddy Styers, Executive Director of the Redevelopment Authority, presented the first installment of $250,000 to HGTC President Marilyn Fore, HGTC Foundation President/CEO Neyle Wilson and HGTC Foundation Chair Buzz Freeman.

“This generous donation will help improve not only the physical appearance of our campus, but also the technology available to our students here,” said President Fore. “The College’s Grand Strand Campus would not be where it is today without the generous donations of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base Redevelopment Authority.”

“We are proud to partner with Horry-Georgetown Technical College once again in an effort to improve its Grand Strand Campus and the surrounding community,” Buddy Styers said.

HGTC offers college transfer and skilled associate degree programs in more than 65 fields of study. Nearly all programs feature internships that lead to jobs. Ninety-five percent of students either transfer to earn advanced degrees or start careers in their respective fields of study.
