(CONWAY, SC) – The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation is pleased to announce that Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC) will serve as the Premier Event Sponsor for the HGTC Foundation Board of Directors & The Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs of Myrtle Beach Annual Gala being held on Saturday, April 18, 2020.
The Annual Gala is the major fundraising event for the year and includes a hors d'oeuvre and champagne reception, live entertainment, silent auction, a delicious gourmet menu prepared by HGTC professional chef instructors, a live auction, and so much more. The event will be held at the HGTC International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach and will raise funds to support the culinary programs and scholarships for culinary students attending HGTC. This annual event has proven to be a phenomenal success, with over $950,000 being raised in the past twelve years.
“We are thrilled to have the support of HTC as the Premier Event Sponsor of the 2020 Annual Gala,” said Mr. Neyle Wilson, HGTC Foundation President. “HTC is the perfect brand to step into the title sponsor role. The committed support of a sponsor like HTC and the loyalty of our attendees are what makes this the best event of the year. Over the past 12 years, the Annual Gala has raised over $950,000. We are hopeful that this year we can achieve the one million dollar level.”
“HTC has always believed that investing in our local youth is critical to the continued growth and success of our community,” said Mike Hagg, HTC Chief Executive Officer. “HTC’s local cooperative roots align well with HGTC Foundation’s mission of supporting deserving students in our communities.”
“The Annual Gala event has been an extraordinary success for the College raising nearly one million dollars in the past twelve years for scholarships, student support, and numerous college projects,” said Dr. Marilyn M. Fore, HGTC President. “We are so pleased with the continued support from HTC, one of our most loyal business and industry partners,” said Dr. Marilyn M. Fore, HGTC President.
The purpose of the HGTC Foundation is to raise funds to support the programs, services and activities of HGTC, its students and employees, and to create and cultivate positive relationships between the College and the community.
The HGTC Foundation invites the community to become involved as the College continues to foster its reputation as a high quality learning and teaching institution with a student-centered environment. The community can enhance this vision with financial support for scholarships, programs, facilities or other needs; donation of equipment or technology; mentoring students; providing internships; and service on various academic or foundation advisory boards.
