Certified Crane Operator Courses

Sky View logoHGTC in partnership with Skyview Crane Training and Inspections, is pleased to offer Certified Crane operator training in Horry County. The goal of this course is to assist individuals with preparation for the National Commission of Certified Crane Operators (NCCCO) written and practical examinations. Certified crane operators are in high demand.

This course includes all objectives that are required nationally to prepare you to operate a crane on any job site. Course completion will allow new students and existing crane operators to improve their expertise and prepare them for the National Commission of Certified Crane Operators examinations. We will offer both of the following classes.

3 Week Basic Crane Operator Training Class

  • Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 4:00 first two weeks
  • Monday – Friday 8:00 – 4:00 3rd week. The practical and the NCCCO exam will be given at the end of the week.

1 Week Rigger/Signal Person Class

Experienced operators may take this 1 week class for more instruction in rigging and signaling. Our training class covers everything that is required for qualifying riggers and signal persons.

Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 4:00 each day 

  • Execution of Rigging Activity
  • Hand signals
  • Inspection
  • Rigging components
  • Safety Standards and regulations
  • Situational awareness (how to take site specific considerations into account)
  • Technical knowledge
  • Voice communication

Successful completion of the following tasks are also required:

  • Basic knots
  • Pre-use rigging inspection
  • Rigging hitches
  • Rigging connections

Each participant will receive certificate of completion and a photo ID card.
