(CONWAY, SC) – The Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Foundation is pleased to award scholarships for the following International Culinary Arts students: Tanner Lankford, Vanessa Romo, Denny Munoz, Stacey Price, Teodora Fuller, Mindy Price, Thomas Pardue.       

“This year’s applicants and scholarship recipients are a remarkable group of young adults,” said Neyle Wilson, HGTC Foundation President & CEO.  “The HGTC Foundation is proud to award the culinary scholarships to these proactive, engaged and deserving students, who will only continue to make a difference in our community.”

Students must possess a GPA of 2.8 or greater and complete the scholarship application including an essay detailing why they have chosen Culinary Arts as a career.  There are two award dates for scholarships; Fall and Spring, and students must apply prior to each semester to be eligible. The applicants are reviewed and chosen by an HGTC Foundation Culinary Scholarship Committee that includes Tony and Allyson Hirsh and Chef Kathleen Hassett.

“The HGTC Foundation is so impressed with the caliber of students that are improving their lives with targeted educational opportunities and especially in the culinary field of study,” said Buzz Freeman, HGTC Foundation Chairman.  “The future of these scholarship recipients will be enhanced by their investment and the Foundation is honored to be involved.”
