Kristin Yanaros HGTC’s Kristin Yanaros Honored as USC Palmetto College’s Psychology Online Student of the Year

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is pleased to celebrate the accomplishments of Kristin Yanaros, HGTC Data Analyst in the Registrar’s Office, who graduated this May with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina Palmetto College.

Kristin has been recognized as the 2025 Outstanding Online Psychology Student of the Year by the Psychology Department at USC Palmetto College. This prestigious honor is awarded to an outstanding psychology student who demonstrates academic excellence and meaningful engagement in the program.

In addition to her full-time role at HGTC, Kristin has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while actively participating in several academic honor societies, including Psi Chi International Psychology Honor Society and Phi Theta Kappa. She is also a dedicated member of the Psychology Club and is passionate about serving others through volunteer work.

“Kristin’s commitment to lifelong learning, her dedication to the field of psychology, and her drive to grow both professionally and personally are inspiring,” said Dr. Heather Hoppe, Registrar at HGTC. “We’re incredibly proud to have her on our team and excited to see what the future holds for her.”

Kristin plans to continue her education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Leadership at USC. She aspires to become a psychology professor or a child psychologist, using her knowledge to support and empower future generations.
