Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) will host an Open House at the International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach
(ICI) on Thursday, July 17, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., offering prospective students
an inside look at the College’s renowned culinary and hospitality programs.
The event, located at 920 Crabtree Lane in Myrtle Beach, will provide interested students the opportunity to tour professional teaching kitchens, meet chef instructors, and explore career paths in culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, and hospitality management.
“The HGTC International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach represents the highest standard of culinary and hospitality education in our region,” said Dr. Marilyn “Murph” Fore, HGTC President. “With world-class facilities, expert chef instructors, and a curriculum grounded in hands-on learning, our programs consistently prepare graduates to excel in a competitive industry.”
The Open House schedule includes guided kitchen tours, opportunities to meet faculty and current students, and program overviews highlighting HGTC’s associate degrees and specialized certificates.
Event Schedule:
- 4:00 – 4:15 p.m. – Welcome and Registration
- 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. – Kitchen Tours and Faculty/Student Interaction
- 5:15 – 6:00 p.m. – Program Overview and Culinary Institute Information
Prospective students will view the Institute’s professional kitchens, bake shop, outdoor BBQ kitchen, and other industry-standard facilities. Chef instructors will be on-site to answer questions about the curriculum, industry certifications, and career opportunities available through HGTC’s programs.
Registration is encouraged but not required. Prospective students may register at www.hgtc.edu/openhouse by Wednesday, July 16.
