Career Exploration Event to learn about trade career opportunities.

Myrtle Beach area trade industry businesses are helping to inspire the next generation of skilled workers at the upcoming “Build Something Amazing” Career Exploration Event.

Partnership Grand Strand (PGS), the nonprofit foundation of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC), is partnering with community organizations and area businesses to host the educational expo on Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) Conference Center on the Grand Strand Campus at The Market Common, 950 Crabtree Lane, Myrtle Beach.

“This is an exciting opportunity for students to connect directly with area employers as they demonstrate the value of their industry, and spark interest in building a strong future for the youth in our community. Trade jobs are in high demand and offer great benefits for those who work in these highly skilled professions,” said BJ Beaver, PGS Executive Director.

More than 400 soon-to-be high school graduates from across Horry County will attend Build Something Amazing to explore real-world career options in trades such as construction, HVAC, electrical, automotive, welding and plumbing. Local businesses will provide interactive booths and hands-on demonstrations that showcase what a career in their trade truly looks like, all while building relationships with potential future employees.

Along with PGS and HGTC, Horry County Schools, Apprenticeship Carolina, Building Talent Foundation and the South Carolina Department of Education and Workforce are helping produce the event.

Any business who wishes to participate, can learn more and register on the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce’s website or visit PartnershipGrandStrand.com.
