HGTC Announces Spring 2021 Commencement Details

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) recently announced the plans surrounding the 2021 Commencement Ceremony for the 2020-2021 academic year. The College will host the 2021 Commencement Ceremony on Wednesday, May 12 at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
To provide a safe environment, up to three Commencement Ceremonies will be held with tickets first offered for a 1:00 p.m. ceremony. If the 1:00 p.m. ceremony reaches capacity, tickets will then be offered for a 9:00 a.m. ceremony. If the 9:00 a.m. ceremony reaches capacity, tickets will be distributed for a final ceremony at 5:00 p.m. Once capacity for each ceremony is reached, ticket distribution will end so be sure to get your tickets early.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to host our spring commencement ceremony in-person this year in May,” said Dr. Marilyn M. Fore, HGTC President. We are looking forward to a grand celebration for our graduates in May!”
Students eligible to participate in the May 12 ceremony must have completed degree requirements in Fall 2020 and scheduled to complete degree requirements in Spring 2021 or Summer 2021.
Caps and gowns will be available for purchase in the HGTC bookstore once campus offices are permitted to provide face-to-face services for students and members of the public. Caps and gowns may also be purchased online directly through Herff Jones. The deadline to obtain caps and gowns for the May 12 Commencement Ceremony is Friday, May 7.

Tuesday, April 13, 9 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Monday, April 19, 9 a.m.– 4 p.m.
Wednesday, April 21, 9 a.m.– 4 p.m.
GEORGETOWN CAMPUS - Building 100, Room 114
Monday, April 12, 9 a.m.– 3 p.m.
Thursday, April 22, 12:30 p.m.– 6 p.m.
GRAND STRAND CAMPUS - Building 200, Student Lounge
Thursday, April 15, 12 p.m.– 6 p.m.
Monday, April 19, 8 a.m.– 12 p.m., 1 p.m.– 6 p.m.
