(Conway, SC) 04/08/2020

Food Donations

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) donated all unused food items on the Conway and Grand Strand Campuses this week. The donation was in response to the Patricia Grand Hotel’s efforts to collect and provide leftover food for families seriously in need in Horry County. The College Student Food Service Department provided items such as bread, meat, chips, and drinks that will be delivered to those who desperately need it as the pandemic continues to affect so many who are suffering after losing their jobs.

“As we are all facing this crisis, HGTC is committed to helping as many as possible get through this difficult time,” said Dr. Marilyn M. Fore, HGTC President. “I want our community to know that we have been here to serve you and we will continue to serve you.”

Normally, all three HGTC campuses would be packed with students, but that’s not the case this semester with no in-person classes allowed due to the Coronavirus. Throughout this situation, HGTC has remained committed to preparing students for careers in business and industry that will improve their quality of life. Even with the restrictions in place, the College is still honoring all students by providing its educational mission through online instruction.

Food DonationsAs always, HGTC stands ready to help the community.
