HGTC students set fundraiser for Family Justice Center
Human services students at Horry-Georgetown Technical College are sponsoring a “Survivor’s Soiree” on Oct. 10, to raise money for the Family Justice Center of Georgetown County.
Prof. Jeanne Bennett said the purpose of the event is to raise awareness of sexual violence and the need to expand Family Justice Center services into Horry County. The soiree will be from 7-11 p.m. in Building 600 on the HGTC Grand Strand Campus, and will include dancing and dessert, with a drawing for door prizes. The event is semi-formal, and sponsors request that guests wear purple. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
