At Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC), the Office of Public Relations & Communications governs institutional messaging, public relations, media management, and reputation management.
PR & Communications Goals

Major Functions
Media Relations
Managing media relations through press outreach, interviews, storytelling, partnerships, and monitoring coverage and public sentiment.
Presidential & Executive Communications
Creating presidential communications, supporting leadership messaging, and developing strategic, institution-wide communications.
Strategic Communications & Institutional Messaging
Developing and guiding consistent, institution-wide messaging aligned with the College’s mission, priorities, and brand positioning.
Internal Communications
Managing campus-wide communications for students and employees, including communications supporting institutional change and crisis communications.
Reputation Management
Protecting and strengthening the College’s reputation through key messaging, official statements, and leadership of crisis communication planning and response.

The Office of Public Relations & Communications manages institutional messaging, media relations, executive communications, and internal communications.
Requests for graphic design, photography, videography, or website updates should be directed to the Office of Marketing & Brand Strategy.
