HGTC alumni Association

Mission
The mission of the Horry-Georgetown Technical College alumni Association is to raise funds for campus beautification, student scholarships, equipment to support the development of students with special needs, and other events and programs. An Annual alumni Association Phon-A-Thon is held each fall by current students of the college in order to help raise funds to support these projects.

History
The alumni Association was established by graduates and former students committed to furthering the goals of the college and our students through active support. The Association was established in 1988 and incorporated in the State of South Carolina as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization.

Association Scholarships
There are three alumni Association Scholarship Funds administered by the Association and the Financial Aid Office of the College on behalf of students:

  • The Helen G. Stuart Endowed Scholarship
  • The alumni Association Annual Scholarship
  • The Mary Elizabeth Gilland Annual Scholarship
  • The Wanda Hendricks Bellamy Scholarship
Announcements of the availability of these awards are made by the Financial Aid Office of the College in April each year.

HGTC Foundation
The Horry-Georgetown Technical College Foundation, a private, not-for-for profit organization, exists to enhance the image of the College in the community and to raise, invest, manage, and disburse funds in support of the students, faculty, staff, programs and activities of the insitution.
