A Message from the President, Neyle Wilson
Greetings, students, partners and friends!
For more than four decades, Horry Georgetown Technical College has been a leading
South Carolina college, where quality and affordability meet.
Offering more than 80 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs, as well
as a diverse and rapidly-expanding list of corporate and business training options
through our Workforce Development Division, HGTC has built an international reputation
for preparing the finest graduates and employees to meet the needs of business, industry
and government.
While our students, faculty and staff represent more than 30 countries, and come to
the College from all over the United States, we remain a true community college, with
more than 90% of our more than 8,500 students living, working and remaining in South
Carolina. In fact, 4 out of every 5 students at HGTC are residents of Horry or Georgetown
County. And while we've grown at an exponential rate, our outstanding faculty and
staff are committed to treating each and every student as an individual.
When it comes to curriculum, HGTC is on the leading edge. We are an internationally-renowned
institution, and offer career programs ranging from Healthcare to Industrial Technology
to Information Technology and more. We also feature a thriving University Parallel
program for those seeking to transfer to other institutions to complete a Baccalaureate
degree. What's more, many classes are conveniently available through Distance Learning
and over the Internet.
Plus, we offer tuition that's among the most affordable in the State and roughly 40%
of what's found at most four-year institutions. In addition, we are ideally located,
with three campuses in Georgetown and Horry County, and landscapes ranging from the
majestic Live Oaks of Conway to the waterfront of Georgetown to the white sand of
Myrtle Beach.
I encourage you to contact us or visit the Admissions website for more information
about the College to find out why we've been one of the fastest growing colleges in
South Carolina for more than a decade. It's students first at Horry Georgetown Technical
College and we hope you soon discover that for yourself. Come, Discover Tech!
