Renee Atkinson, SC Teacher of the Year
Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is thrilled to announce a special event featuring the esteemed 2024 South Carolina Teacher of the Year, Renee Atkinson. As part of her visit to HGTC, Mrs. Atkinson will share her insights and experiences during a captivating presentation on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Burroughs & Chapin Auditorium on the Conway Campus.
Renee Atkinson is not only the current South Carolina Teacher of the Year but also earned the title of Horry County Schools Teacher of the Year in 2023. With an impressive 21 years of dedication to the South Carolina Public School System, Mrs. Atkinson boasts 17 years of service in Horry County, making her a highly respected and influential figure in the field of education.
This exclusive event is tailored for Early Care & Education and Teacher Education students, offering them a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights from a seasoned educator and outstanding leader. HGTC is also welcoming ProTeam scholars, middle school students from across the district IV region, who are interested in the education profession. Immediately following the presentation, these students will be treated to lunch and a campus tour.
