HGTC Alpha Nu Sigma Chapter members and advisors showcased their dedication, creativity, and excellence at the recent Phi Theta Kappa Carolinas Regional Convention held this month in Thomasville, North Carolina. Their exceptional performance garnered numerous awards, highlighting their outstanding contributions throughout 2023.
The chapter proudly clinched the following prestigious accolades:
- Most Distinguished Chapter: Securing 1st place among 83 chapters in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Bermuda.
- Beta Tau Continued Excellence Award: Recognized as a distinguished regional chapter for more than three (3) consecutive years.
- Best Chapter Website: Acknowledgment for maintaining an exemplary online presence.
- Yearbook Award: Commendation for the chapter's comprehensive documentation of their activities.
- Posterboard Competition Award – College Project: Recognition for their impactful college project presentation.
- Posterboard Competition Award – Honors in Action: Acknowledgment for their innovative approach to Honors in Action.
- Distinguished Chapter Officer – Linxi Sun: Individual recognition for outstanding leadership.
- Continued Excellence Advisor Award – Leila Rogers: Tribute to the sustained guidance and mentorship provided by Leila Rogers.
- Distinguished Chapter Advisor Team – Beth Carraway, Paulette LaValley, Leila Rogers: Recognition of the collective efforts of the advisor team in guiding the chapter to success.
- Distinguished College Project: Honored for their exceptional work with the Carnival of Life Welcome Back Celebration.
- Distinguished Honors in Action Project: Recognition for their impactful event in collaboration with the South Strand Senior Center.
- Distinguished Honors in Action Theme Award: Achieving the highest score for Theme 2, Economics of Play, for their event with the South Strand Senior Center.
- Five Star Chapter: Recognition for maintaining excellence across various facets of chapter operations.
- Carolinas Region Service Project Award: Commendation for their exemplary service project in the region.
- Carolinas Region Honors in Action Award: Recognition for their outstanding contributions to Honors in Action initiatives in the Carolinas region.
- Carolinas Region SuperStars Award: Tribute to the exceptional performance and dedication of the chapter members.
- Carolinas Region Hall of Honor – Linxi Sun: Induction of Linxi Sun into the prestigious Hall of Honor in the Carolinas region.
