Student Success & Tutoring Center
The Student Success and Tutoring Center (SSTC) is a resource center that provides HGTC students with FREE academic tutoring services, writing center assistance, and academic coaching, as well as access to science models, textbooks, and other resources. The SSTC is also home to the EPIC Lab, where students can develop skills needed for effective professional and interpersonal communication.
SSTC tutors are available to help with the following subject areas:
- Writing & Public Speaking (papers, essays, reports, MLA/APA style, speeches and presentations for any subject)
- Math (All Courses)
- Sciences: BIO, CHM, PHY, AST
- Nursing
- Test Prep: TEAS, PRAXIS and more
- Social Sciences/Humanities: PSY, SOC, HIS, and more
SSTC tutors are available to meet with students on campus as well as online via Microsoft Teams. Students can request to schedule appointments using the Penji website or app (web.penjiapp.com). Students also have access to online tutoring via Pear Deck Tutor (formerly TutorMe), a 24/7 service provided to all HGTC students.
