Police Pre-Academy Pathway

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Criminal Justice degree pathway is designed to prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions by providing a solid educational foundation through general education credits and elective courses. Earning an Associate in Applied Science degree at HGTC enables students to easily transfer to senior institutions within South Carolina.

For students wishing to enter the SCCJA Police Academy, the Police-Pre-Academy pathway lists the recommended coursework  for students to  complete the Criminal Justice degree while receiving training equivalent to the first four (4) weeks of the 12-week Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) at the SCCJA.  

Below is a listing of recommended courses which lay the best foundation for transferring to a four-year institution and earning a bachelor's degree in a Criminal Justice.
