Horry Georgetown Technical College and Croissants Bistro & Bakery announce the naming of the Croissants Bakery and Patisserie Laboratory for the new Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach

Heidi Vukov, owner of Croissants Bistro and Bakery made a recent pledge to Horry Georgetown Technical College in support of the new Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach for the naming rights to the Bakery/Patisserie Lab. This lab will be designed to give students a strong base in bakeshop applications and production of quality commercial baked goods.

Mrs. Vukov, owner of Croissants stated her business was proud to support HGTC with this gift. “As part of the culinary community, we are committed in our support of HGTC in the construction of this new facility. Having an instructional center of this caliber will be a great asset in not only preparing student chefs but also in promotion of the food service and restaurant industry in our local area.”

We are very privileged to accept this pledge and Croissant’s decision to support Horry Georgetown Technical College through this naming opportunity,” said Neyle Wilson, college president. “This facility will become the foundation for food service training in our area and will allow us to elevate the quality of instruction and equipment to prepare our students for careers in the food industry.”

Tom Maeser, President & CEO of the HGTC Foundation praised Croissant’s Bistro, “It is wonderful to have the support of the culinary industry in HGTC’s efforts to build the new state-of-the –art Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach on the Grand Strand campus. We are in the process of raising $3,000,000 to cover infrastructure costs, and with the help of businesses like Croissant’s Bistro, we are confident that we will get the funds necessary to complete the project,” Maeser said.

A free-standing, non-profit organization chartered by the State of South Carolina on November 18, 1978, the purpose of the Foundation is to raise funds to support the programs, services, and activities of Horry-Georgetown Technical College, its students and employees, and to create and strengthen positive relations between the College and the community.

The Foundation is recognized by the South Carolina Tax Commission and the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt, non-profit organization with 501(c)( 3) status and may act as an eligible grantee when the College is ineligible to do so. Foundation funds are managed by Directors for the benefit of the growth and development of the College and are dispensed for use in meeting college goals and objectives, in addition to the resources allocated by established funding sources.
