Foundation Gala 2016

Horry-Georgetown Technical College
A culinary experience through time

2016 Foundation Gala

On March 13, 2016, the Myrtle Beach Chapter of the Chaine 2015 galades Rotisseurs joined Horry-Georgetown Technical College's Foundation Board of Directors for an elegant evening in support of the College's Culinary Institute and raised over $115,000.

The ninth-annual gala drew more than 170 supporters of delightful food and outstanding education. The evening's theme was "A Culinary Experience Through Time" featuring delicious food paired exquisitely with a variety of wines.

The silent and live auctions enticed attendees with a wheelbarrow full of wine, twelve $100 gift certificates from the finest restaurants in town, a trip for two to Napa Valley, a trip for two to Kentucky including tours of the most known Bourbon distilleries, a kayak and paddle board, yachting excursion, and much more.

Each year, the gala proceeds benefit a Culinary Scholarship fund and other Culinary Arts projects. This year's event raised over $115,000 to support the growth of culinary arts along the Grand Strand. The Tony and Allyson Hirsh / Chaine des Rotisseurs Scholarship Fund granted $5,000 to nine deserving students.

This year's event was the last to be held in the Grand Strand Campus Conference Center and Thomas C. Maeser Auditorium. In 2017 the event's new home will be the HGTC's International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach, opening in the fall of 2016.
