Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) announced the inaugural induction ceremony of the Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society was an outstanding success, thanks to the diligent efforts of co-advisors Kevin Miller and Pete Yocum. The event, held on April 3, 2024, marked a significant milestone for the newly formed society, showcasing the dedication and excellence of its members.

Under the guidance of Miller and Yocum, the planning and execution of the ceremony were meticulously coordinated, resulting in a seamless and memorable experience for all attendees. A total of 26 students were inducted into the society, with 10 of them attending the ceremony alongside their proud family members.

The presence of the entire Business faculty underscored the department's unwavering support for both Kevin and Pete, as well as their commitment to fostering a holistic educational experience for their students. The ceremony served as a platform for faculty and students to connect beyond the confines of the classroom, reinforcing the sense of community within the academic environment.

"We are thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive response to the Alpha Beta Gamma Honor Society and participation in the induction ceremony," said Dr. Marilyn Murphy Fore, HGTC President.  "It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. As we look ahead, we are excited to witness the continued growth and success of Alpha Beta Gamma, knowing that it will serve as a beacon of academic excellence for years to come."

The creation of Alpha Beta Gamma, initiated back in January, has been a collaborative effort supported by the entire HGTC community.

“We appreciate the support and leadership of the students through Alpha Beta Gamma.  As the society continues to flourish, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those who have contributed to its establishment and success,” said Dr. Theresa Strong, HGTC Assistant Vice President and Dean of the School of Business.
